Spirulina Recipes That Taste Good

Spirulina can not only be taken in tablets or pills. Although it is not a culinary delight (its flavor is not particularly delicious), it can be used as another ingredient in our kitchen. Its advantage: without changing the flavor of the food much, it adds a lot of color and, above all, nutrients!
A - Spirulina cream
You need:
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 chicken bouillon cube
2 liters of water
1 large onion chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
1kg of spinach
2 or 3 potatoes
2 tablespoons of spirulina powder
Preparation:
First put the oil in the pot and add the onion and minced garlic over medium heat. When they are golden (without burning) add the spinach, the water, the potatoes peeled and cut into medium pieces, the chicken stock cube and cook until the potatoes are tender.
Then beat everything until there are no lumps. When the cream is warm, add the two tablespoons of spirulina and mix everything well. You can present it with fried bread cubes.
Note: If the cream is not too thick, you can add cornstarch dissolved in a little water.
B -Spaghetti with basil pesto and spirulina
You need:
(Ingredients for two people)
250 grams of spaghetti
(Ingredients for pesto)
1 clove garlic
50 grams of basil
100ml olive oil
3 tablespoons ground almond
150 g of Parmesan cheese
Salt
Pepper
1 tablespoon and ½ of spirulina
Preparation:
Put water in a pan with plenty of salt and, when it starts to boil, add the spaghetti and let them cook for 3 or 4 minutes.
To make the pesto, pour the garlic, ground almonds, chopped Parmesan, spirulina, salt, pepper and basil into a blender (save a few leaves for final decoration). Add a good splash of olive oil and blend everything.
Mix the pesto with the previously drained spaghetti, plate it with a little grated cheese on top along with two basil leaves and it's ready to eat.
Optional:
You can make crispy cheese crackers to add to plating.
Grate some Parmesan cheese on a baking sheet. Put baking paper so that it does not stick to the tray and put it in the oven for 2 or 3 minutes at 200 degrees.
C - Peppermint iced tea with spirulina
You need:
2 liters of boiling water
8 peppermint tea bags
fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon of spirulina
Preparation:
Take a saucepan, boil two liters of water.
Add 8 peppermint tea bags to boiling water for two minutes. Let the tea cool, and once cold add the tablespoon of spirulina and mix well.
Do not add spirulina to very hot water as high temperatures can degrade some nutrients. Once this process is finished, add ice and fresh mint leaves and ready to drink.
D -Spirulina ice cream, refreshing and nutritious
You need:
½ melon (without seeds)
1 tablespoon of spirulina powder
½ can of coconut milk
Preparation:
Cut the melon into pieces and remove the seeds. Put the melon in the blender together with a tablespoon of spirulina powder and half of the can of coconut milk. Beat until the mixture is homogeneous and pour it into the molds to make ice cream. Let it freeze and done.
E -Spirulina Fruit Smoothie
You need:
½ cup of pineapple
½ cup cucumber
Juice of 1/2 lemon or 1/2 lime
1 tablespoon of spirulina powder
2 apples
1 cup of water
Preparation:
Add the tablespoon of spirulina to the juice of half a lemon or lime, as you prefer, and to the cup of water. Then take your glass blender and add solid foods (pineapple, cucumber and apples). You must beat the mixture until you get a homogeneous appearance and without lumps.
Optional: You can add ice to make a granita, or you can also add nuts or blueberries.
